About us

Sometimes parties are more than a happy get-together with friends and acquaintances – especially if they come from different countries like Germany and Russia.

People discuss current affairs, the economy as well as their own life. They exchange information and ideas crop up eventually. That’s exactly what happened in 2002: Talks were held about how it would be like to import mushrooms to Europe. For some guests, it was the most natural thing as they had spent their childhood with hunters and mushrooms pickers in rural places. For Alexander Rode the idea didn’t seem outlandish either. He realized the potential: Wild mushrooms grow in excellent quality and large quantities in Russia and Eastern Europe. He speaks a couple of languages ​​fluently and understands differences in mentality.

The first delivery took place in August 2003: 300 kg of dried chanterelles found their way to Switzerland. A lot has changed since then. The product range has been steadily expanded. His daughter Lilia Rode has been working for the family business since September 2016.

Today the company is a major supplier of fresh, dry and frozen mushrooms in Europe.

“You can buy chanterelles everywhere, but I know what I’m getting with you,” one regular customer said in a phone call. To make sure this continues we focus on two factors: (1) We check the quality of every delivery and (2) we pass on your feedback to our long-standing suppliers. That’s why you get a consistent quality across various deliveries without great fluctuations. Convince yourself and request a sample.

What we do

Fresh, Dried and Frozen Mushrooms

Seasonal business starts in June and expires in November. We buy the mushrooms directly from mushroom pickers. Further processing begins immediately. The natural product is prepared for the fresh market in Germany. The chanterelles are being sorted and packed according to your requirements.

In Oppenweiler we check the quality or process the goods into ready-to-cook / pan ready-to-use chanterelles. At the same time our partners dry and frost porcini mushrooms and chanterelles in their picking areas.
